Monroe Public Schools Foundation Annual Report - August 31, 2007

The Monroe Public Schools Foundation (MPSF) was started by a group of concerned citizens in the fall of 2005.  A steering committee representing many facets of our community laid the ground work for the foundation including the mission statement and bylaws.  They also elected the initial Board of Directors for the corporation in December of 2005. 

The MPSF was recognized as a non profit corporation in January of 2006 by the State of Washington and they received their 501 (c) (3) status shortly thereafter. 

The Foundation continues to grow and expand, and will continue to support and distribute scholarships to secondary students in the spring of 2008.  In addition, the STAR award program has been implemented, giving the community an opportunity to recognize the work of educational staff and professionals in the Monroe School District and also raise funds for the Foundation's programs.
