The Monroe High School Class of 2001 Positive Peer Scholarship is awarded to students who reflect the encouraging and positive atmosphere our class enjoyed during our time as Bearcats. This gift is made possible by the contributions of the graduating Class of 2001, in hopes that subsequent generations both benefit from and contribute to the greater Bearcat culture.

The Positive Peer Scholarship, formed in lieu of a physical reunion during Covid-19, aims to help an MHS graduate who has proven themselves to be a positive, inspiring and encouraging member of their class. This student will have demonstrated the qualities of community awareness, compassion, empathy and service to their peers that builds a strong and lasting culture of kindness at Monroe High School.

The Positive Peer Scholarship will meet and help fulfill the first-year educational expenses associated with higher education such as University, State College, Community College, or vocational school in the amount of $500.

Applicants are required to hold a minimum 3.0 GPA as well as demonstrating how they have fostered a positive and encouraging culture during their time at Monroe High School. Each applicant will provide both transcripts and a 500-word essay detailing the ways they have contributed to both overall school culture and support of their peers.

If you would prefer to contribute via check, please send your donation to the following address. Please also mention "MHS Class of 2001 Scholarship" either in the memo line of the check, or by attaching a separate note.
